About Me

Founder and CEO

 Dr. Alicia Martin is a 2005 Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) STEM Scholar and Summa Cum Laude graduate of Texas Southern University, where she earned a B.S. in Mathematics. She went on to complete an M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction (2007) and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (2011) from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. Dr. Martin also holds certifications in TExES Math 8–12, EC–12 Principal, and EC–12 Superintendent, along with a T-TESS appraiser certification, demonstrating her comprehensive expertise in education and leadership.


For 20 years, Dr. Martin has served as an instructional leader, advancing student achievement and providing support through high-quality curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment. From 2005–2018, she worked in local area school districts in Houston, Texas, serving in the following roles:

  • Principal
     
  • Associate Principal
     
  • Dean of Instruction
     
  • Academy Principal/Assistant Principal
     
  • Campus Testing Coordinator
     
  • Secondary Math Specialist
     
  • High School Mathematics Teacher
     

As an educational leader, Dr. Martin developed a strong interest in building the capacity of teachers and leaders through data-driven instruction (DDI). This led to her directing the Data-Driven Instruction Specialist (DDIS) program in one of the largest school districts in Texas, where more than 30 district data specialists supported campus leaders and teachers with data disaggregation and action planning to improve instructional practices.


Dr. Martin also brings ten years of experience teaching mathematics at the college level at Lee College and Lone Star College. In both online and face-to-face settings, she designed and delivered courses that supported diverse learners, helping students strengthen their skills, build confidence, and persist toward academic success.


From 2018 to 2023, Dr. Martin delivered professional development and built the capacity of PK–12 teachers, leaders, and district support personnel in executing the DDI cycle, positively impacting student outcomes. She also coordinated district-wide data conferences, organized community events, and led data-driven initiatives across the district.


In 2023, Dr. Martin transitioned to the role of Assessment Strategy Director, where she supports assessment alignment and DDI best practices in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for PK–12 teachers and leaders. She continues to facilitate professional development focused on cultivating a data-rich culture, developing strategic assessment plans, and maximizing academic outcomes closely linked to teaching and learning.
